Huh. It says here that only 3 banks failed over the week... Well, that's only 15 for the month of August... but 589 branches were forced to reorganize.. just for this month. This compares with only 34 branches and three banks a year ago. That's not including ATMs.
On a branch basis, that means 3,628 branches have been reorganized from last July 11th, when IndyMac started the ball rolling with the latest round of closures.
